You know how, when you make a changing pad cover or a crib sheet, you have little extra squares of fabric leftover? I’;ve been saving ’;em up. They’;ve been making me crazy actually…;I needed to do something with them to get them out of my line of sight besides shove them deeper into a box. So when Scarlet recently took up tea parties I gathered ’;em up and made some reversible mini-placemats. Pretty fancy for a little lady, huh? Super simpleaccent pillow case baby burlap home decor, completed during naptime, and the same DIY works for grown-up placemats too. And since I know you’;re going to ask: the table, chairs, and mini stoneware tea set are all from Ikea. And so are the umm, plastic play wine glasses. Pretend mommy juice!*

*Please tell me my child isn’;t the only one who says “;mommy juice”;

Playing around with colour when designing your home can be one of the fun parts! That being said, it can become a nightmare if you don't know how to approach the use of colour, the good news is that we can give you a push in the right direction! Above all of the rules of colour and its use within private spaces, is your personal taste. If you will be making a lot of changes then it can help to have a colour wheel at hand and perhaps some colour samples. It isn't uncommon for someone to spend literally hours looking through paint charts.

As you can see, you don't have to go head-to-head with the neighbours immense display of flashing lights and life-sized Santas – some of the more discreet interior design ideas are far more welcoming and tasteful for your outdoor Christmas decorating; plus you won't scare away the Reindeer!

Seatbelt bags and purses have become all the rage! I purchased one and got so many compliments I wanted to try making one of my own. This bag is made of 2 inch wide heavy duty nylon seatbelt webbing. It was super fun to make, and is very sturdy.
