Thank you to Mohawk Consumer Products for sponsoring this post. As always, my opinions are based 100% on my own use of the product.

If you have read my blog for any length of time, you know that I am a hard-core lover of IKEA furniture. In fact, 90% of the furniture in my home office is from Ikea, including this popular IKEA Malm hack and my IKEA desk hack. Our dining room chairs are from IKEA. This table and chairs in my sweet Avery's room are from IKEA. All of the pieces that make up these “;built-ins”; in my sweet Attley's room are from IKEA (PS- you can read all about the secret to painting IKEA laminate furniture in this post).

Seriously, I could go on and on. And while I have always been totally impressed by the quality of IKEA's pieces, the fact is that we've had some pieces for so long that they absolutely have gotten some dings and dents along the wayaccent pillow case baby burlap home decor, which I totally expect (with any furniture, for the record). And while I was happy to discover the trick to painting IKEA furniture a while back, I never really had a great way to repair those dings and dents, until now :)

I've been honored to be a brand ambassador of Mohawk Consumer Products for a while now and am a big fan of all the Mohawk products I have tried. But when Mohawk told me that they were releasing a 3 in 1 Repair Stick in colors that were created to perfectly match the most common colors of IKEA furniture, I wanted to hug them (and would have, but we live too far away–;seriously, Mohawk is full of nicest people you will ever meet). This post contains some affiliate links for your convenience (which means if you make a purchase after clicking a link I will earn a small commission but it won't cost you a penny more)!Click here to read my full disclosure policy.

Needless to say, I couldn't wait to try outMohawk 3 in 1 Repair Sticks! I've used them several times already, but today I finally decided to document the process as I tackled the repairs on my IKEA Galant bookshelves in my office. They are the common IKEA “;black-brown”; color. A while back, I thought it was a good idea to hang a curtain rod and curtain from the shelves to hide what was on them. But in the end, I HATED how it turned out, so I removed the rod and hardware, leaving big old, ugly holes where the screws had driven into the top corners of the bookshelves. I repaired the holes in minutes and got a perfect color match. Read on to learn how I did it.

If you prefer video tutorials, you can check out one of the official demonstration of theMohawk 3 in 1 Repair Stickfeaturing yours truly below as I repaired a black IKEA office chair below. But there's also a written version of this DIY furniture repair tutorial for those who prefer written instructions and step-by-step photos.

1) First, use the built-in Leveler Cap to run across over damaged area on your furniture to remove any pieces of damage that were protruding above the surface.

2) Next, shake your3 in 1 Repair Stickfor around 60 seconds to mix the paint. Then depress the marker tip onto a paper towel until the paint covers the entire tip of the marker.

3) Use the paint marker to replace any color that was lost by the damage you are repairing.

4) Next, use the fill stick to fill in any dings, dents or holes. Hold it at a 45 degree angle and press firmly as your rub the fill stick back and forth over the damaged area. Continue rubbing until you get full coverage. Be sure any voids are completely filled. I recommend erring on the side of OVER filling :)

5) Use your leveler cap to remove any excess material.

6) Finally, use a cloth or paper towel to remove any wax residue from your piece.

That's it! I told you this furniture repair is easy! But that really isn't the best part. The best part is that with Mohawk's3 in 1 Repair Sticksyou can perfectly match the IKEA paint or stain on your piece, which is something I've never been able to accomplish before this product came out. A 5-minute repair and a perfect color match. I definitely call that a DIY win! Check out the before and after.

Definitely much easier on the eyes now that all the damage I inflicted on my bookcases has been repaired :)

I’m excited to participate in the White Buffalo Styling Co Blogger Stylin Home Tours! If you’re coming from DIY Playbook, welcome, I’m excited to “meet” you! Since last year’sChristmas home tour, a lot has changed. We’ve removed a few walls and closets, a wet bar and a lot of carpet, linoleum and green tile. We’ve gutted two bathrooms, added wood floors, a lot of paint and several light fixtures. It’s been fun watching our home transition, even as we speak. Our new doors arrived last week and are being installed as I write. I had hoped that construction would be complete before the holidays so that we could enjoy a little peace, but it’s part of the process and I’m so thankful we have the opportunity to personalize our home. It’s exciting to see your vision come to life, even if it alters along the way. I had a lot of fun decorating our home for the holidays this year, or should I say decking the halls! While unintended, it seems the underlying theme is hanging of the greens and candlelight. I rarely start decorating with a plan, just my heart. When I do attempt do decorate with a plan, I find myself frustrated that I can’t findsomething that fits my vision. I have to say, decorating this year was more rewarding than ever as I was able to enjoy it with the girls.

Now that the festive season is in full flow you are probably wondering, like everybody else, “What am I going to do for New Years Eve?” Traditionally the biggest party on the calendar- the time when we say goodbye to all that has past and usher in a fresh new beginning, but more recently the time when taxis charge a fortune and everywhere seems too far to bother, Hogmanay has to many become more hassle and hyperbole than high spirits and hoopla. If you are looking for ways to spend the occasion with all your friends and loved ones without the need for re-mortgaging to cover taxi costs why not hold your own New Years Eve party at home?

Yesterday we made a Pocket Bib and today we are making a matching terry burp cloth so we have a DIY bib & burp cloth gift set. This burp cloth is wildly simple.
